Privacy and data

Your screenshots stay on your Mac.

SnapMark Screenshot captures, recognizes, and edits images on your device. The current version has no SnapMark account, cloud sync, advertising, or analytics service.

Last updated: October 2, 2026 · Applies to the SnapMark Screenshot macOS app

SnapMark Screenshot does not send screenshots or OCR text to its servers. Apple handles App Store account and transaction data under Apple's own terms and privacy policy.

Information the app processes

Screen content and images

When you capture a screenshot, record a GIF, or open an image, SnapMark Screenshot reads the selected content on your Mac to capture, stitch, edit, copy, and export it. Images may contain personal or confidential information. You choose what to capture and how to use it.

OCR and privacy suggestions

When privacy detection is enabled, Apple Vision OCR and local rules check images for possible email addresses, phone numbers, identity numbers, and payment card numbers. Recognized text and coordinates are used locally to show suggested redactions and are not sent to SnapMark Screenshot servers. Detection may miss or misidentify information, or locate it incorrectly; it is not a substitute for manual review.

Preferences

Your interface language, privacy detection setting, and keyboard shortcuts are stored locally in macOS preferences. They do not include screenshot content.

Clipboard, exports, and temporary files

When you choose Copy, the image is written to the macOS general pasteboard. Exports are saved to the location you choose. GIF previews use a temporary directory on macOS; the app attempts to delete the temporary file after a successful save or cancellation. The operating system, clipboard managers, cloud drives, or backup software may handle these items under their own practices.

Permissions and purchases

Screen capture requires screen recording permission in macOS. SnapMark Screenshot uses capture capabilities only when you start a screenshot or recording. You can review or revoke permission in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording (or Screen Recording, depending on your macOS version).

The 10-day trial and lifetime unlock use Apple StoreKit. SnapMark Screenshot does not receive payment card details and does not operate its own payment server. The app reads Apple's verified transaction information to determine trial and unlock status. Apple handles account and payment information under Apple's privacy policy.

Retention and deletion

Screenshots, opened images, annotations, and OCR results generally remain in app memory until the image is replaced, app state is reset, or the process exits. Closing a window does not guarantee immediate removal from memory. You manage exported files at the location you selected. macOS and clipboard tools manage pasteboard contents. Temporary GIF files may remain after an abnormal exit.

SnapMark Screenshot currently has no server-side screenshots or account data for the developer to retrieve or delete. You can delete exported files, manage clipboard contents, and turn off privacy detection in the app. See Your Privacy Choices for more information.

Third parties and security

SnapMark Screenshot does not actively share your screenshots. After you copy, save, send, or place a file in a synced folder, recipients, macOS, or the relevant third-party service may process it. The current version does not provide app-level file encryption, account access control, or remote wipe.

This policy describes the current version. If future versions add network services, telemetry, or third-party SDKs, the developer will update this page and the App Store privacy disclosures.

Contact and privacy requests

For privacy questions or requests, contact the developer at haibin.howard@outlook.com. Because the current version does not store screenshots or account data on SnapMark Screenshot servers, relevant local files and settings must be managed on your Mac.
